# Additional payroll: cost and how to add employees
## Adding an additional person to payroll - explained
Our Accounting Standard plan includes payroll for one director, whilst our Accounting Scale plan includes payroll for up to three people (directors and employees combined). Additional payroll slots are available as an add-on to these plans at £8+VAT per person per month.
### When you need an additional payroll slot
- You are on Accounting Standard and want to add an employee or a second director to payroll
- You are on Accounting Scale and have more than three directors or employees to pay
### How to add a new employee or director to payroll
Contact us as soon as possible before the new person's first pay date. We need their full name, National Insurance number, date of birth, home address, start date, agreed salary or hourly rate, and their P45 from their previous employer (or a completed starter declaration if no P45 is available).
Requests to add employees to payroll can be made by emailing support@bsqaccounting.co.uk**.**
### Auto-enrolment for pensions
Adding an employee may trigger auto-enrolment pension obligations. We assess eligibility and advise on pension scheme requirements when you notify us. Assistance with pension scheme setup can be provided for an additional fee. We will make you aware of any charges for this prior to completing the work.
💡 **Good to know:** Tell us about new employees as soon as you have made a job offer, even if the start date is weeks away. Early notice gives us time to set up payroll and ensure the pension scheme is in place before the first pay date.
