Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) Number
What is a UTR number, and where can I find mine?
Your Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) is a 10-digit number issued by HMRC. It identifies your company for tax purposes and you must use it when filing Corporation Tax returns and annual accounts.
When will I receive my UTR?
- Your UTR is usually issued within 2–3 weeks after your company is formed
- HMRC automatically sends it by post to your registered office address
How to access your UTR
- If you are using our Registered Office Service, this will be scanned and emailed to you on the same day we receive it
- It will also be stored on your Client Portal under the "My Mail" tile and can be viewed by selecting the PDF icon. Log in to your Customer Dashboard here.
- If you are using a personal registered office address, the letter will be sent by post to this address
