Companies House ID verification for new companies

Our ID verification process when forming a new company with us, and how to submit your Personal Verification Code (PVC)

Companies House requires all company directors, Persons with Significant Control (PSCs), and LLP members to complete identity verification and obtain a Personal Verification Code (PVC).

If you are forming a new company with 1st Formations, the ID verification process is straightforward:

  1. After you complete our ID verification checks, we submit your details to Companies House

  2. Companies House generates your PVC and emails this directly to the personal email address you provide

Once received, you will need to upload your PVC via your customer portal or via our Order Tracker.

💡Already have a PVC? If you have previously verified your identity for another company, you don't need to verify again. You can enter your PVC into the application form when forming your new company.
