# How to change the email address your MFA code is sent to

## Verification codes are always sent to the email address on your account. To get codes somewhere else, update your account's primary email address.

### If you can access your account

If you're able to log in, you can update your primary email address by following the steps below:

1. [Log in](https://www.1stformations.co.uk/login/) to your Client Portal.
2. Select the "[My Details](https://www.1stformations.co.uk/my-details/)" tile.
3. Under '**Email Addresses**', update your primary email address.
4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select "**Update Details**".

Updating your primary email address means you are changing the email address we use to contact you, including for **newsletters, important updates, and scanned mail**.
