Non-UK ID & document requirements

Learn about the required ID and address documents for non-UK residents forming a company with 1st Formations

All non-UK customers and company officers are required to provide a valid ID document and a proof of address document showing their current residential address. We can accept the following:

Proof of ID document
  • EU/EEA/Channel Islands/Isle of Man: Passport, Photocard driving licence, or biometric ID card
  • All other countries: A biometric or machine-readable passport only

⚠️This means that anyone without a document issued within the EU, EEA, Channel Islands, or Isle of Man is required to provide a valid passport. We cannot proceed with the order without this document.

Proof of Address

Additionally, you must provide a document confirming your current residential (home) address. This must be:

  • A bank statement or utility bill (gas, water, or electricity)

  • Clearly addressed to you

  • Clearly displaying your full residential address (not a business address)

  • Dated within the last 3 months

  • In the original format (e.g. a downloaded PDF, not a screenshot)
