How to let us know about a change in your circumstances

When and how to inform us of any changes to your business or personal circumstances

Keeping us informed of changes in your business or personal circumstances ensures your compliance and tax position stays accurate.

Business changes to tell us about

  • A new director being appointed or an existing director resigning
  • A change in shareholders or share allocation
  • A new employee starting or an employee leaving
  • A significant change in turnover (for example approaching the VAT threshold)
  • Purchasing a significant asset such as equipment or a vehicle
  • Starting to trade in a new sector or providing a new type of service

Personal changes to tell us about

  • A change in your home address (your registered address may need updating)
  • Marriage or civil partnership (may affect National Insurance and tax credits)
  • Taking on a second source of income alongside the company
  • Receiving an inheritance, capital gain, or other significant one-off payment

How to tell us

Send a message through the client portal or by email at any time. For time-sensitive changes, use live chat to flag it immediately and follow up with the details by email.

💡 Good to know: You do not need to decide whether a change is significant enough to tell us about. If in doubt, tell us anyway. A brief message takes less than a minute and prevents compliance issues that can take much longer to resolve.
