How we work as your HMRC agent
What we do and do not do as your agent - explained
Acting as your HMRC agent means we have formal authority to deal with HMRC on your behalf. This covers all tax heads relevant to your plan: Corporation Tax, PAYE, and VAT.
What we do as your agent
- Submit all returns and registrations directly to HMRC
- Receive and respond to HMRC correspondence about your company
- Call HMRC on your behalf to resolve queries, correct errors, or dispute assessments
- Receive copies of tax assessments and payment notices
What agent authority does not cover
Our agent authority covers the tax affairs managed as part of your plan. It does not cover matters outside the scope of your accounting plan or specialist areas requiring separate engagement.
If HMRC contacts you directly
Forward any HMRC letter or email to us on the day it arrives. Even with an agent in place, HMRC occasionally writes directly to the taxpayer. We review the communication and respond or advise you accordingly.
💡 Good to know: We cannot act on your behalf for matters we do not know about. Forwarding all HMRC correspondence to us on the day it arrives is the single most important habit you can build as a new director.
