What a Xero health check involves
What we review when we conduct a Xero health check
A Xero health check is a structured review of your Xero account carried out by our team. It is designed to catch errors, inconsistencies, and gaps before they affect your VAT returns or year-end accounts.
What we review
- Bank reconciliation: is the bank fully reconciled with no unmatched transactions?
- VAT coding: are the correct codes applied to transactions, with no obvious errors?
- Invoices: are all invoices approved rather than sitting in draft?
- Bills: are supplier bills entered with documents attached?
- Director Loan Account: what is the current balance and direction of movement?
- Duplicate transactions: are there any obvious duplicates in the bank feed?
- Account codes: are costs being coded to appropriate categories?
How long it takes
One of our accounting team completes your Xero health check. We then send you the completed checklist, your health score, and any recommendations within 24 hours.
💡 Good to know: Health checks are not the same as a full bookkeeping review. They identify what needs attention and correct what we can. The cleaner your Xero is going in, the more useful the health check will be.
