What happens at your first year-end
What we need from you and what we prepare - explained
Your first accounting year-end is the most demanding compliance point in year one. Knowing what to expect helps you prepare.
What we need from you
- Confirmation that all sales, purchases, and expenses are entered in Xero and up to date
- Any costs paid personally that have not been entered (we will allocate these to the Director’s Loan Account)
- Details of any assets purchased during the year
- Details of any private use of company assets (particularly vehicles)
What we prepare
- Full year Xero review and any corrections needed
- Statutory accounts for Companies House
- Corporation Tax return (CT600) for HMRC
- Director's dividend vouchers for all dividends taken
- Management of all filing and payment deadlines
💡 Good to know: The cleaner your Xero records are throughout the year, the faster and less costly the year-end process is for you. A year of weekly bookkeeping means it takes a fraction of the time to finalise your year-end accounts compared to a year of catch-up work done in one go.
