What the Quarterly Review covers (Accounting Scale)

How your quarterly review meeting takes place and what is covered

The Quarterly Business Performance and Tax Review is exclusive to Accounting Scale customers. It is a structured conversation with your named accountant four times per year.

What is covered

  • A review of your Profit and Loss for the quarter: revenue, gross margin, and key expenses
  • Your current cash position and projected cash flow for the next quarter
  • Your year-to-date Corporation Tax position and estimated liability
  • Immediate tax planning actions relevant to the quarter (for example, timing of dividends or pension contributions before year-end)
  • Any HMRC or Companies House matters arising in the quarter
  • A brief discussion of any significant business decisions or changes planned in the coming quarter

Format

Your quarterly review is a focused 20-minute video call with your accountant. To make the most of that time, our accounting team prepares the analysis in advance, so the call is spent discussing what the numbers mean for you rather than walking through them line by line.

Ahead of the call, you will receive a quarterly report pack, prepared from your Syft data, covering your profit and loss, balance sheet, cash position, and key performance indicators for the quarter, with period-on-period comparisons. We will highlight the two or three things we think are most worth your attention, so you can review the pack beforehand and come to the call with any questions.

The call itself focuses on those highlights, any decisions on the horizon, and anything you would like to raise. We follow up with a short written summary of the key points and any agreed actions.

💡 Good to know: The quarterly review is one of the most tangible benefits of our Accounting Scale plan. Unlike a reactive support model where you ask questions and we answer them, the quarterly review is a proactive conversation about your business and its direction.
